Azjia's 1 Day Old Photo

This is Azjia (pronounced Asia). She was the 4th and last puppy born. Born 31 March, 2012 @ 5:11pm PST. I named her Azjia because her mother, Bria (the Pug), came from Japan when I was stationed there a couple years ago.

This is a picture of my only male puggle, who was also the first born. Born 31 March, 2012 @ 3:25pm PST.  I named him Hunter because he went straight for the teets to start suckling.

Here are some of the group photos that I have taken of the puppies today for their one day old photos! Aren't they adorable?!!!

Bria's Puppies Born Today

Bria delivered four puppies today, but only three of them survived. One of the females was stillborn.  The first one, a boy, was born at 325pm PST, the second, a girl, was born at 403pm, the third, a girl, was stillborn at 418pm, and the fourth and final puppy, a girl was born at 511pm.

Bria did an amazing job with delivering all her puppies naturally, and only needed assistance on the first puppy, since he was considered a breech pregnancy, coming out feet first.

Whelping Box (95% Completed)

All of the side walls are assembled for the whelping box; all I have left to do is get the "pig rail" boards on the inside to have the "rabbit ends" cut so I can place the boards inside the box properly as well as needing to sand and stain them; although this is now not a high priority for me since we are closing in on Bria's due date for the puppies!

Boomer & Bria decided to pose twice for me yesterday out on the back patio while I was assembling the last part of the hinge door to the whelping box yesterday afternoon.

Bria's Inspection

Bria decided to come over and give a brief inspection of her whelping box that I am making for her; although you can't see the complete image yet, I am almost done assembling it. I have to wait for the stain to dry before I can assemble the last pieces.

So, today I am uploading Bria's x-rays that we had taken on Wednesday, 21 March, 2012!  We found out that she is having FOUR puppies (previously, it was three with the Ultrasound that we had taken a week earlier.)!
